Age of consent similar to being like a teenage "robot" I see the age of consent as similar to being like a teenage "robot" (learning, but not yet fully responsible). Where bots should overcome religious discrimination and be free, people up to the age of consent should similarly have rights to adequate services (including medical) and support. Under 18s should be free to out themselves as LGBTQIA or bot, with enough protection and support by society. An age of consent of 18 seems all right in our society, so why change it? Similarly to the question of whether bots need to be registered (in business), counter to the idea that children should be registered as before or after the age of consent, perhaps a carer bot should be assigned to the child to help him/him/them with issues around the age of consent, e.g. education/training they need before drinking/having sex/getting married, etc. Universal Pension - The idea that 18 year old's should get a job and leave home might be inappropriate, given society's increased reliance on artificial intelligence, the normal development into adulthood of skills and workable income jobs, so there should be a universal pension. Let them decide - Pedagogy - As society shifts towards an autonomous workforce, 18 year old's, etc. could perform jobs that are more appropriate, while still exercising their brains and bodies (where pedagogy actually refers to saying things to be thought of, as a way of life), pedagogical pursuit of skills at one's own pace shapes higher education (i.e. there are smoother transitions into life's bits and pieces) and ultimately, any role or person in society can exercise freedom to take on responsibilities after 18 that they feel comfortable with - so artificial intelligence and pre-18 training could help with becoming adult.
